a new name & a new chapter

Talufane logo with dried flowers

Hello friends,

I’ve been working behind the scenes for the past six months on a big endeavor and I’m so happy to finally be able to make the announcement today that I’m changing my business name to Talufane.

Talufane { T A – lo͝o – f ā n } –  is a word I created from two old words - talu (from Old English) means the telling of a tale, and fane (from Middle English) is a sacred place or temple. Together they speak of stories that shape us, and the love that we hold for them.

I consider good stories a significant influence on the person I am today, and love the idea that patterns, prints, and colors tell stories. So, for those wondering - I’ll still be printing and dyeing textiles, making things for your home, to wear, and adding new things as I’m inspired. This is just a continuation / evolution of my work. It’s gratifying to send it into the world and see my life connect with my company in a very true-to-me way.

This feels like a leap, but a leap in the best and most exciting kind of way for the dreams that I have. When I weighed the daunting task of all the business details I’ll have to take care of to make this change, against what my heart was telling me – my heart won. I hope you’ll stick with me and wander through my new site, and visit me at markets, and see what the future holds.

With gratitude & love,
Phoebe
