shire banners

A few years ago I made my niece a birthday banner that we loved so much, we kept it hanging up all summer. We added names as the months went by to include other birthday celebrations, and so the banner grew and stretched the entire length of the porch. It didn't feel strange to keep it up, it felt whimsical and tender – a reminder to celebrate each day. So, in keeping with my desire to make things that carry me away to far-off places, I decided to add these banners to my shop. I'm calling them Shire Banners because they're inspired by the paintings of J.R.R. Tolkien's lettering and maps – and I imagine that they're the sort of thing Shire-folk might hang for a celebration. There are several different sayings available, but you can also customize them by adding a name or word of your choice. Well Done, Indeed!
